We’re on HER team!

Mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

It is with a similar belief that Shri Jaiprakashji Goel, a staunch follower of Gandhian principles, set up Goel Ganga Foundation, the CSR division of Goel Ganga Group, and a not-for-profit organization that is committed to spreading pure delight by giving back to society.

Women hold up half the sky, Mao Zedong rightly said. At the Foundation, we believe it is imperative to do our bit to strengthen their world.  GGF4Her is thus, Goel Ganga Foundation’s effort to empower, uplift, and inspire women to occupy their rightful place in the world.

The Indian woman is awakening into a new world – a world full of unique challenges. It was our vision to create a platform where she can tell her stories, be heard, grow, network and share with a group of like-minded women. That is why we created GGF4Her.
17 Sustainable Development Goals, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by world leaders in a historic UN summit in September 2015. The fifth Global Goal is to achieve Gender Equality.

Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large. This is why GGF4Her has chosen to align itself with UN SDG 5 – to create a world that is pure delight for women.

Mrs. Saloni Goel , the vivacious driving force behind the launch event, Mrs. Geeta Goel, the source of inspiration for all of the Foundation,  and Mrs. Amrita Goel, a budding sociopreneur,  form the power-packed trio spearheading GGF4Her.

The GGF4Her portal was launched on the 29th of March, 2017, at the hands of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, Rashmi Shukla. She applauded the thought behind the launch of GGF4Her and spoke about the need for empowering women.

At the launch event, Mrs. Geeta Goel, the matriarch of the Group, announced a full scholarship to Urmi Gopalakrishna, a bright, deserving student of GG International School, which is run by the Goel Ganga Foundation. Urmi was also felicitated at the hands of Mrs. Goel and Commissioner Shukla.

Stree Adhar, an initiative launched by GGF4Her on International Women’s Day which helped female labourers get their Aadhar Cards was also successfully concluded at the launch event. Speaking of the initiative, Mrs. Saloni Goel said, “It was wonderful to see so many women turn up to get their Aadhar Cards, and their happiness at receiving it. It is not just a piece of documentation – to them it is a proof of their existence, their identity. This, after all, is the thought behind GGF4Her - to make the world a better place for one half of its population!”

The launch event, held at Ganga Dham Towers in Marketyard, was a resounding success. It was a great evening where a lot of women pledged their support towards a common cause – creating a safe, secure world that is pure delight through the power of sisterhood.
